FC Seoul's "captain" Jesse Lingard expressed satisfaction with his life in Seoul.
"Lingard found refuge in soccer in the capital of Korea at the age of 32. He became the captain of Seoul and is the most famous player in the K-League," the Daily Mail said on Sunday (Korea time).
Lingard, who was originally from the U.S. team's Sunggol Youth, played as Manchester United's main midfielder from the 2015-16 season. After playing for Manchester United until 2022, Lingard joined the K-League after signing a contract with Seoul in February last year after playing for Nottingham Forest. Lingard slowed down due to knee injury early last season, but after recovering, he showed strong performance and finished the season with six goals and three assists in 26 games.
"I even cried at the airport," Lingard said. "But my love and composure for soccer came back quickly. Life has become more beautiful again. I like Seoul. It's really nice. There are many places to go and the food is delicious. I am training hard and always learning."
Regarding the K-League, he said, "The level of the K-League is high and technical," adding, "I enjoy playing soccer here. I like running with a small space, but sometimes there are players who block me during the game."
The U.K. pointed out that Lingard's transfer to Seoul, a member of the K-League, was a failure. Former coach Sam Allardyce called Lingard's transfer a failure, saying he is currently playing for a less famous team in Korea.
However, Lingard refuted Allardyce's assessment by saying, "I don't think I failed 100 percent. Rather, I feel successful. Look at me. A Warrington kid has done it from the age of seven to the end. The percentage of success is about 0.2 percent. I am the chosen player."
"Lyngaard wants to play for about four more years and will consider either MLS or UAE," the Daily Mail said. "I believe he will be fit enough to return to the English Premier League. Long term, he is considering changing his career completely."
He continued, "Lingard's life in Seoul became longer and while it didn't completely save him, it definitely helped him heal. Sometimes he thinks there will be more challenges. He still has that kind of vibe." 바카라
Lastly, Lingard said, "Happiness is the key for me and now it's here. I love Korean culture and I love people. In many ways, I feel very lucky," expressing satisfaction with his life in Seoul.
